Just found my photos kinda stolen to wallpaper site called desktopnexus... spent the whole day browsing the nature section and filling the copyright violation forms.
There was few my flower shots, few of my landscapes and nature close-ups from my other account and a huge amount of my cat-photography. All taken from here without permission and there was no credit whatsoever.
I see now I've been soooo stupid and naive to think here is only nice and honest people here. I've let people to download my photos for their pleasure, and it never occured to me someone would steal them to a site where that person gets all the credit...
Does anyone else have the same problems? Have you found your work stolen? What have you done? Am I overreacting?
At the moment, I'm still learning photography, and not making any money with it... I seek perfection, But I'm very much dreaming that some day I'd sell my photos and be given credit. Just stupid dreams but it makes me mad to see my passion and number one love to be stolen all over the internet.
Oh well, my own fault...?
I tried at some point to add a signature to my photos, but I see it should be the size of a house and in the middle of the photo so that it would help; one of my photo had been cropped in that wallpaper site so that my name had disappeared. And I hate the dA watermark... To edit big signatures to my works would be a huge task.
Desktopnexus has luckily, I must say, very efficient moderation; it didn't take but few hours and all those works I reported were deleted. I just wish they'd kick those thieves off from this planet!
Found this very handy (and pretty) watermark thingy inside dA, I think I'll be using it from now on
I don't know what kind of people the thieves are... stupid, thoughtless, ignorant, naive, cruel, what?
Thank you for reading my middle-of-the-night- burst...
