Description

This Deilephila elpenor ( Elephant Hawk-moth ) caterpillar scared me to death
when I was watering the garden...:faint:
It was big ( about 9 cm ) and was munching willowherb leaves.
After I recovered from the shock, I started photographing it... :giggle: It didn't mind me at all.

This not so little bloke is really cool. I love the big scales and snake-like eyes it has tattooed on its side. I am not surprised you got a shot when you saw it the first time. Nice shot:)
